Committed to

the land and people

A generous and loving gesture

The Vila Isern family is the origin of Urpina. Their vision, their love for their children and for the land where they were born, are the inception of the Urpina project and its wines. In 2006 they made a living donation of the estate to AMPANS foundation, with the condition that the entity would look after their two children with intellectual disabilities when they could no longer do so.

Solidarity wines social project

The grapes used to produce the Urpina wines, an agrosocial project of the AMPANS foundation, are looked after and harvested by people with intellectual disabilities and with support needs, creating job placement opportunities and social recognition to help them to fulfill their life project.

Creating opportunities

We have been managing the Urpina estate since 2006, ensuring the conservation and restoration of its historical heritage. We recovered the vineyard, agricultural and livestock activities it has housed since its origins, and we have transformed it into a land of opportunities for the people we assist.

The estate is home to a care home for 25 people with intellectual disabilities.

The value of inclusion

In 2015 we set up the Formatges Muntanyola factory, taking over the business from the original founders of this artisan brand. With their expertise and tradition, we make Muntanyola cheeses maintaining the quality standards that have been recognised local and internationally.

Nowadays, Formatges Muntanyola is part of the AMPANS Special Employment Center (SEC) which ensures a dignified, productive and remunerated employment for people with disabilities and/or in a situation of vulnerability.

Art, wine and a starry sky

Art and wine come together in the new 3 Nits wine label to create a starry sky in a diverse cosmos.

The initiative, organised by L’Art de Viure and guided by the design agency Morillas, is part of an art and plastic expression project where people with intellectual disabilities explore their creativity and artistic talent to create the new identity of this wine, which sought to symbolise the starry sky through splashes of paint, creating a more inclusive cosmos.

Brushes, toothbrushes, sprays, white paint and black canvas were the artists’ tools to capture the essence of the social project on a label for Urpina’s 3 Nits wine.
